Active ingredient: SILDENAFIL
Brand Name: Viagra
The following product information is not intended to replace the physician's
or manufacturer's instructions.
VIAGRA USES:
Viagra is used to treat male sexual function problems (erection problems).
Viagra relaxes muscles within the penis. This allows increased blood flow
into the penis, necessary to achieve and maintain an erection.
HOW TO USE VIAGRA:
Viagra is taken by mouth as needed between four hours and one-half hour
before sexual activity (about one hour before is most effective). Take
only as directed, usually once daily as needed. Viagra works along with
sexual stimulation to help achieve an erection. Do not take double or
extra doses.
VIAGRA SIDE EFFECTS:
Viagra helps most people with erectile dysfunction, but it may have unwanted
side effects in a few people.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects are
troublesome, severe, or do not go away:
- diarrhea
- dizziness
- flushing
- headache
- indigestion
- nasal congestion
If you experience any of the following serious symptoms, contact your
doctor immediately:
- changes in vision such as blurred vision, eyes being more sensitive
to light, or trouble telling the difference between blue and green objects
or objects having a blue color tinge to them
- difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
- chest pain or palpitations
- prolonged erection (lasting longer than 4 hours)
- skin rash, itching
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice anything that is making
you feel unwell.
VIAGRA PRECAUTIONS:
Before using Viagra, tell your doctor your medical history, including
any allergies (especially drug allergies), any penis conditions such as
fibrosis/scarring, history of painful/prolonged erection (priapism), sickle
cell anemia, blood system cancers (such as leukemia or myeloma), or Peyronie's
disease, eye problems (retina diseases), kidney or liver disease, bleeding
disorders or active stomach ulcers, frequent heartburn or gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD), heart diseases, stroke or severe high or low blood
pressure. Do not take any other drug used to treat impotence, such as
alprostadil (Caverject, Muse, Edex) or yohimbine (Yocon, Yodoxin), without
first talking to your doctor. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact
with Viagra. The interaction could lead to potentially adverse effects.
You should discuss the use of grapefruit and grapefruit juice with your
doctor. Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate side effects of this
drug. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated
or lying position, get up slowly. The elderly may be more sensitive to
the side effects of Viagra, therefore caution is advised in this group.
Contact you doctor immediately if the erection lasts longer than 4 hours
or if it becomes painful. This may be a sign of priapism and must be treated
immediately to prevent permanent damage. If you notice any changes in
your vision while taking this drug, notify your doctor as soon as possible.
Do not change the dose of your medication. Using Viagra does not protect
you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:

effectiveness of the medicine Tell your doctor of all nonprescription
