Ortho Tri-Cyclen
Common Uses:
Ortho Tri-Cyclen is an estrogen and progestin combination used to prevent
pregnancy. It may also be used to regulate the menstrual cycle, treat

or condition may be needed if you are taking barbiturates, carvedilol,

metoprolol, pioglitazone, penicillin or tetracycline antibiotics, theophylline,
topiramate, troglitazone, troleandomycin, or medicine for seizures. Inform
your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or
breast-feeding. Use of Ortho Tri-Cyclen is not recommended if you have
a history of cancer, heart or liver conditions, pulmonary embolism, blood
clots, stroke, cerebrovascular disease, or smoking. Contact your doctor
or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this
medicine.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Directions:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully.
Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have
before using this medicine. Try to take Ortho Tri-Cyclen at the same time
every day, not more than 24 hours apart. Swallow the pills with a drink
of water. Take with food to reduce stomach upset. Most products contain
a 21-day supply of pills containing the active ingredients. Some products
contain an additional 7 pills containing iron or inactive ingredients
to be taken during the week of menstruation; this reduces the chance of
missing the first day of the next cycle. Do not take more often than directed.

You may not return to normal ovulation and fertility for 3 to 6 months.
Discuss your pregnancy plans with your doctor. If you are taking oral

endometriosis or other hormone related problems, it may take several months
of continued treatment to notice improvement in your symptoms or condition.

consult your eye care specialist. In some women, tenderness, swelling,
