Flonase is anti-inflammatory nasal spray. For people 4
years and older, it relieves the nasal symptoms of seasonal and
year-round nasal allergies. It reduces the inflammation that leads
to symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and itchy, runny
nose.
Dosage: You should use Flonase as directed by your health
care professional.
For adults: the recommended starting dosage is
two sprays in each nostril, once a day. One spray in each nostril,
taken twice a day (for example, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.) is also effective.
After the first few days, you may be able to reduce your dosage
to one spray in each nostril, once daily, for maintenance therapy.
The maximum total daily dosage should not exceed two sprays in
each nostril.
For adolescents and children (4 years of age and older):
the recommended starting dosage is one spray in each nostril,
once per day. Children not adequately responding to one spray
in each nostril may increase their dosage to two sprays in each
nostril. Once your child’s nasal symptoms are adequately controlled,
the dosage should be reduced to one spray in each nostril, once
per day. The maximum total daily dosage should not exceed two
sprays in each nostril.
