Diovan Medical Uses
Diovan (Valsartan) is a member of a new class of blood pressure
medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Diovan prevents
the constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels (veins and arteries).
Diovan is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. It may be
used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications.
Diovan is indicated for the treatment of heart failure in patients
who are intolerant of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors.
Diovan has been found to reduce deaths following heart attacks in
patients with congestive heart failure.
