Active Ingredients: Tadalafil
Brand Name: Cialis
The following product information is not intended to replace the physician's
or manufacturer's instructions.
Cialis Common Medical Uses:
Cialis is a prescription medicine for the treatment of erectile dysfunction
(impotence) in men. Cialis increases the body's ability to achieve and
maintain an erection during sexual stimulation. Cialis is similar in to
the medications Levitra and Viagra, but is reported to have longer lasting
effects. This drug does not directly cause an erection of the penis, but
it alters the body’s response to sexual stimulation by enhancing the effect
of the nitric oxide, a chemical that is normally released during sexual
stimulation. Cialis does not: cure impotency; increase a man’s sexual
desire; protect from sexually transmitted diseases; serve as birth control.
This medication only helps maintain an erection when a man is sexually
excited.
How to Take Cialis:
Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor
will prescribe the dose that is right for you. Cialis comes as a tablet
to take by mouth and is available in three dosages - 5 mg, 10 mg, and
20 mg tablets. This drug goes to work fast - within 30 minutes after taking
a dose in some patients - and can work up to 36 hours. It may be possible
for you to engage in sexual activity more than once (e.g. in the evening
and again in the morning). Cialis should not be taken more than once a
day. This drug can be taken with or without food. However, do not drink
excessive amounts of alcohol while taking Cialis, as the risk for side
effects from Cialis can be increased. If you are not sure when to take
this medication, ask your doctor or health care professional.
Cialis Possible Side Effects:
Cialis helps most people with erectile dysfunction, but it may have unwanted
side effects in a few people. Most of the side effects are mild to moderate
in nature. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any of the following
side effects and they are troublesome, severe, or do not go away:
- headache
- nausea
- upset stomach
- swelling of the eyelids
- eye pain
- dizziness
- lightheadedness
- flushing (feeling of warmth)
- stuffy or runny nose
- back pain
- muscle aches
If you experience any of the following serious symptoms, contact your
doctor immediately:
- skin rash
- difficulty breathing
- painful erection
- prolonged erection (longer than 4 hours)
- changes in vision
- fainting
- chest pain or irregular heartbeats
- itching or burning during urination
- swelling of the ankles or legs.
In case of chest pain occurring during or after sexual activity you should
NOT use nitrates but you should seek immediate medical assistance. Tell
your doctor or pharmacist if you notice anything that is making you feel
unwell.
Cialis Precautions:
Before taking Cialis, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic
tadalafil or any other drugs, foods, preservatives or dyes. Tell your
doctor if you have been previously told by a health care provider to not
be engaged in sexual activity because of your health condition. Tell your
doctor if you have or have had any of the following medical conditions:
an erection that lasted more than 4 hours; a heart attack; heart disease
(including angina (chest pain), arrhythmia, heart failure); liver or kidney
problem; stroke; high or low blood pressure; sickle cell anemia. Do not
take any other medications used to treat impotence (such as Viagra, Levitra,
Caverject, Muse, Edex, Yocon, Yodoxin and others) without first talking
to your doctor. Before you start to take Cialis, tell your doctor what
prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, especially
medications for high blood pressure; nitrate such as nitroglycerin (Nitrostat,
Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Transderm-Nitro, others), isosorbide
dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), isosorbide mononitrate
(Imdur, ISMO, Monoket); alpha-blockers such as terazosin (Hytrin), tamsulosin
(Flomax), prazosin (Minipress), doxazosin (Cardura), and alfuzosin (Uroxatral);
erythromycin, itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral), phenobarbital,
rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane), ritonavir (Norvir), indinavir (Crixivan).
Taking Cialis with any of these medications may cause very low blood pressure,
possibly resulting in dizziness, fainting, stroke, or heart attack. Cialis
is not intended for use by women or by children under the age of 18 years.
No special consideration is needed for the elderly or people with diabetes.
If you are over 65 years of age, you may be more likely to experience
side effects from Cialis.

effectiveness of the medicine. Do not take Cialis if you are taking:

Nitro-Bid, Minitran, and others), isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR,
